The ArtisticGame backgammon boards were first designed and copyrighted by an Iranian artist in 1983. Searching unsuccessfully for a real luxury backgammon board that brings back the memories of the old country, he decided to use his own vision, creativity and expertise to create one by hand. Since backgammon is an ancient Persian invention, he decided to use the design of Sun and Lion, the true national Iranian emblem on the game board to give it a definite identity.
